For the academic year 2023-24, this NCERT-based syllabus will serve as the foundation for the GUJCET-2024 Examination.

Examination Scheme for GUJCET

The GUJCET examination is designed to assess your knowledge in key subjects. Here’s the examination scheme for GUJCET:

  1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions, where each question will have four options, with one correct answer among them.
  2. Subject Distribution: The GUJCET question paper covers the following subjects:
  3. Physics and Chemistry: There will be a combined question paper with 40 questions from Physics and 40 questions from Chemistry. This section will carry a total of 80 questions, 80 marks, and a time limit of 120 minutes. The OMR Answer Sheet will also have space for 80 answers.
  4. Biology and Mathematics: Separate question papers are provided for Biology and Mathematics, each containing 40 questions. This section carries 40 marks, and candidates have 60 minutes to complete it. The OMR answer sheet will be designed to accommodate 40 answers.

Method of Assessment (Marking Scheme)

The marking scheme for GUJCET is as follows:

  1. Marking: Each correct answer to a multiple-choice question earns you 1 (one) mark.
  2. Negative Marking: For every wrong answer to a multiple-choice question, 0.25 (1/4) marks will be deducted. This serves as a form of negative marking.
  3. Multiple Answers: If a candidate selects two or more options (answers) for a single multiple-choice question, they will lose one mark (negative marking).
  4. Uncertain Answers: If you’re unsure about an answer, it’s advisable not to answer the question to avoid negative marking.
  5. OMR Answer Sheet: The answer sheet is in OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) format. Marks will be calculated by computerized scanning of the answer sheet. The correct answers (answer key) for each subject will be made available on the Board’s website before the results are announced.

Method of Filling up OMR

The OMR answer sheet must be filled out meticulously. Here are the guidelines:

  1. Ink and Pen: Use a black ink ballpoint pen exclusively. No other pen or pencil should be used, and the use of any type of remover is not allowed. Violating this instruction will result in the cancellation of the candidate’s candidature.
  2. Darken Circles Completely: Ensure that the circle in the answer sheet is completely darkened with a black ink ballpoint pen.
  3. Single Darkening: If a circle is darkened for an answer, do not darken any other circle for the same question.
  4. Incomplete Darkening: Incomplete or partial darkening of circles will result in the answer being marked as incorrect. Always darken the circle completely.
  5. Leaving Questions Blank: If you choose not to answer a question, leave the respective circle blank and proceed to other questions.
  6. Preservation: Take care not to fold or crease the answer sheet, as this may affect the assessment process.

By adhering to these guidelines, you can ensure that your answers are accurately recorded and that you maximize your chances of success in GUJCET 2024.
